Darshan Academy Delhi is the proud recipient of the prestigious International Dimension in Schools certification and trophy from the British Council. This is awarded to schools for embedding international awareness and global citizenship within their school. Darshan Academy was honoured during the online Felicitation Ceremony, held on 17 December, 2021 and received a trophy and citation as an acknowledgement of IDS. Now, the school will be able to use British Council logo from 2022-25. The school already received The International School Award from the Council several years ago.
The British Council offers the International Dimension to School (IDS) as a certification framework for schools to record and evaluate their international work and embed it into the curriculum and whole school ethos. As part of the IDS action plan, the school planned and executed seven different projects for students of different age groups which were titled as:
1) Sparkling Souls, Spreading Peace
2) Pride of Culture
3) Live and Let Live
4) Language – Effective Tool for Collaboration
5) Be a Smart Consumer
6) Let’s Convert Waste to Wealth
7) Hunger – A Towering Problem
Students carried out activities based on these projects, and gathered knowledge about India and other countries of study. They collaborated with schools in Colombia, and students performed various activities with other schools. An evidence-based, huge 300-page portfolio was submitted by Darshan Academy to the British Council for certification. The hard efforts of the DA students and teachers who were involved in the international, collaborative project work resulted in this impressive achievement.
