KWIBUKA 31 Commemorative Ceremony

On April 7, 2025, students of Class IX A & B from Darshan Academy, Delhi, attended KWIBUKA 31, a commemorative ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, to commemorate the loss and atrocities of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The students witnessed a moving art exhibition, where powerful posters created by students from various schools depicted the pain, loss, and resilience of genocide survivors. The event began with an introduction, followed by the exhibition. It concluded with a heartfelt address by Ms. Mukangira Jacqueline, High Commissioner of Rwanda to India, who shared her personal story of survival and loss. The experience had a profound impact on the students, encouraging them to reflect on the values of peace, humanity, and remembrance.
