Darshan Academy, Delhi staff had the privilege of attending a transformative workshop on Promoting Student Mental Health & Well-Being designed for principals, counselors, and wellness teachers. Led by esteemed experts from IHBAS, New Delhi—Dr. Aparna Goyal, Dr. Shipra Singh, and Dr. Shahzadi—the session emphasized the urgent need for mental health awareness in schools. Discussions focused on early identification of stress, anxiety, and emotional distress, along with hands-on crisis intervention techniques to support students effectively.
Key takeaways from the workshop included fostering a supportive school culture, integrating mindfulness and stress management strategies into daily routines, and strengthening collaboration between educators, parents, and mental health professionals. The session reinforced the importance of open conversations to reduce stigma and equip students with emotional resilience. Practical approaches such as social-emotional learning and crisis intervention techniques were explored to ensure a balanced academic and emotional environment.
It was a golden opportunity for Ms. Mamta Sabharwal (HOS), Ms. Kiranpreet Kaur (Child Psychologist), and Mr. Gaurav Arora (PGT Psychology & Counselor) to gain valuable insights into student well-being. The workshop reinforced Darshan Academy’s commitment to creating a nurturing space where every student feels heard, supported, and empowered.
