Darshan Academy, Delhi, celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm. It commenced with a special assembly, where students were treated to a captivating song highlighting the importance of millet for health and sustainability and an engaging role play focusing on scientific reasoning. Additionally, students in grades 6 to 8 watched a live stream of an online program organized by the science branch of DOE, entitled “Science for a Sustainable Future.” It delved into crucial topics such as developing scientific skills, advocating for millet consumption for a healthier planet, and addressing environmental challenges with innovative solutions. Science teacher Miss Sukhpreet Kaur and Academic Coordinator Ms. Monika Sachdeva elaborated on the significance of National Science Day and its theme, “Science for a Sustainable Future,” emphasizing the importance of promoting scientific literacy and environmental consciousness among students. Ms. Mamta Sabharwal, Head of the School, also shared her insights, focusing on the importance of hands-on learning through experiments and fostering inquisitive discussions rather than relying solely on rote memorization.
