Diwali Celebrations

Darshan Academy Delhi celebrated Diwali on October 21 with a special assembly in the school ground. The main theme for the celebration was healthy ways of celebrating Diwali by lighting candles and having sweets and not burning firecrackers. The celebration began with a speech about the same theme followed by a role play by students of class 8. Both highlighted the disadvantages of firecrackers for citizens by causing noise and air pollution. This was followed with a melodious group song that welcomed Lord Ram back to his home, and a dance performance with characters from the Ramayana showing the victory of Lord Ram over Ravana. Eventually, Mr. Sagar Asrani (TGT science) addressed the students and various doubts students had about their individual role in not burning firecrackers. Finally, both Ms. Mamta Sabharwal (HOS) and Mr. A. David wished the students a happy and safe Diwali. The event was a great success and everyone enjoyed it for both its entertaining and informative values.
