An educational visit was organized for students of Classes X–XII to attend a hands-on lecture conducted by Macmillan Education in collaboration with IIT Delhi. The session, titled “Light, Lasers, and Lifesavers: Building Sensors that See the Invisible,” was held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Dogra Hall in IIT Delhi. Prof. Saumik Siddhanta from the Department of Chemistry conducted the session.
A group of 30 students participated in this enriching academic experience. The lecture focused on the applications of light and lasers in medical technology, explaining how modern sensors detect and analyze phenomena invisible to the human eye. The session combined theoretical concepts with practical demonstrations, making it highly engaging and informative. Students showed great enthusiasm throughout the session and gained valuable insights into real-world applications of lasers in healthcare and technology. The interactive nature of the lecture helped enhance their scientific curiosity and understanding.
The visit was accompanied by Ms. Monika Sachdeva, Ms. Kiran Khanna, and Ms. Sakshi Sehgal, who guided and supervised the students. Overall, the session was a highly enriching and enjoyable learning experience for all participants.
